Starting Saturday I started getting random phone calls on my cell from all different area codes asking for Thomas Smith...  They all are trying to sale "Thomas Smith" Insurance.  I have never had someonc call my cell with the wrong number.  Now i have had 37 random phone calls since Saturday, and they continue.

WTF???

Short of calling verizion and changing my # what else can I do?

I got a call from the same insurance company and regular calls from ADT.  I am supposed to be on the no call list, everytime I mention this they hang up :(

I had something similar and decided to have fun.  They kept calling for Frank.  I’d say things like; He left his phone here when he went down to the free clinic for his VD shot.
Or, He sold me this phone when he got sent to jail on the Kiddie porn charges.  He should be back in 15 to 20 years.
Or, I can’t disturb him now, he’s getting a little afternoon delight with his sister.

Almost makes me wish the calls would start again.

If you have an android phone you can add the numbers to a contact and set it to go straight to voice mail.
For some added fun use google voice for your voice mail and set up a custom message for that contact with 2 minutes of silence before the beep.

I am on the do not call list but still get them.  I feel bad for the salespeople on the other end because if they were capable of ANY other employment, they would be doing it.  Sometimes I am polite but if I am busy, I just hand the phone to one of my kids and let them talk for a while...

This. I am always polite but do not tell them thanks and always make sure to tell them not to call back again.

I am not polite to skip tracers––the ones that are dicks and keep calling. I have a common first & last name and get a lot of bullshit collection calls.

One was a local attorney's office in Marietta, I documented every call and photocopied the cell phone billings and my certified fuck off letter from a month prior and sent it to the president of the Georgia Bar asking for disciplinary action and disbarment and cc'd the lead attorney. Amazingly the calls stopped overnight.

Even better getting collection calls for names like Latisha, Tawanda, etc. I say, "do I sound like a fucking Latisha?"  and most of them say sorry and hang up.

I've been getting texts off and on from someone in California who is under the impression that the girl they're trying to reach resides at my number.  Apparently they signed for her car and she hasn't been making payments.  Despite me clarifying twice that this isn't me the texts still continue in paragraphs.
