I have the itch to own a second 1911, as my first is a old war dog safe queen.  Thinking about building one, and wondering if ye ol' GAHTF knows of any middle ga area shops that carry frame kits?

None in my area come to mind ... I do have a question for you, do you have the tools to put one together or have you done one before ?

i have tools, i have done small parts replacements on my current 1911, wanting to give a complete build a shot.  I do have a friend who has built half a dozen, so I have a guide to help along the way.

I don't know any stores that sell them, but I've heard a lot of good stuff about the fusion firearms kits

I have heard good things about Fusion as well also Spartan is good to go ... Good luck with your build I do not have the tools or the knowledge to do a build like that...

I think it was SSNDoc that did a Fusion build.

if it comes to me having to order one, it does look like I'll be picking a fusion kit.  I like the features they offer and the prcing is not that bad.

I just like to support local shops whenever possible
