.. will be hold a training session at the Waycross airport this weekend. Planes will be flying in from all over the country.
If you are anywhere near here, the public is invited to watch. These guys don't mind as long as you stay out of their way. They are here for training, but they like to have fun while they're at it. The RSPA flies former Soviet bloc training aircraft, mostly Yak and Mig prop-planes. These are quite aerobatic and the pilots don't mind putting on a show for the spectators. And just the sound of large formations (11 once buzzed our house) of radial engines passing overhead is enough to make one grin. Don't know if there will be jets this time, but there generally are when the weather is good. My personal favorite is the Aero L-39 Albatros, but the L-29 Delfins are really cool too, and they usually outnumber the L-39s. |
