| Looking for a long-ish range in N. GA that allows silencers. I've about had enough of River Bend BS; seems like unless you are a "cowboy" or trap shooter you don't matter. |

Gunsite Hills in Lexington is another option - 700yds long Big +1 for GSH. 700-yards. Steel at ranges from 100 all the way out to 700 with most plate arrays having five pieces for five unique shooting lanes. Creekside opens up their long range on specific days still IIRC. Creekside is completely NFA friendly. |

He is also the most ornery, grumpy ol fart I've ever met. He is half the reason I even go there. Also if you go to GSH be sure to have a good 100 yard zero. He has cables than run his movers buried inbetween the 100 and 200 yard berms, and he doesn't take lightly to people shooting them. He will also allow you to use his bags and spotting scopes. |

Like a suppressor is going to cause problems... |

It is just what i heard, because i felt the same way. Now, if they would just open up the pits to practice in. Rich |

Call up there if you don't beleive me 770-893-3502 |

Maybe next they'll even allow people to practice the skills required to participate in some of their "action" matches before the match in a safe environment instead of only letting them participate in those "action" activities under the stress of a match timer. What do ya think the chances of that are?? |

When the new RBGC rulebook is published, which should be any day now, suppressors will be allowed on all ranges....at least that was what the board approved, and I'm on the board. Correct! And the pits ARE available for practice. Once you establish proficiency, the Range Manager can approve your use of the big range. It always requires at least two to run the targets and the line, and you must have working radios. The Club wants to insure that whomever uses it will NOT shoot over the berm into private property on the other side. We do have a great meet every third Saturday where we shoot 200, 300 and 600 yards. This event is the Hunters' Fun Shoot and you can get the details at HRshoot.com. |

I think Books' reference was to timed "action" matches (and IDPA, GSSF, etc..) where rapid strings of fire are required. Its impossible to practice for these matches in RBGC due to the 6-second ROF rule. |

How STUPID is it to allow (in fact, REQUIRE) someone to run around with loaded guns at a match but FAIL MISERABLY to provide that same person a chance before the match to practice the skill? Where is the thought process in that? In fact I find that reckless and unsafe.
But, it is just my opinion. |
