I know you mentioned Lawrenceville, but there is a guy over at Bullseye Gun Range in Cumming that is very affordable and does great work on handguns and rfiles/shotguns for refinishing. He specializes in Moly Resin coating. He has about 6-8 different colors that are tactial in nature. Everything from FDE, Brown, Black, Greens, etc.
I forget his name, but just mention on the phone that it is the guy with the bald head who does their refinishing work. They will tell you his name and when he works. He first bead blasts the old finish off, then parkerizes the metal, then moly resin coats the pieces. He offers LEO and MIL discounts as well. Usually has it done within the same week. I have a few friends that had ARs, Glocks, and shotguns done by him and his prices were better than everyones and the finshes were excellent. |

You're talking about Matt Lilley at Spartan Armory. |

That's who I was thinking of. I stopped by their table at the Dawsonville GSSF match. I actually found his business card just yesterday while cleaning out my desk but must have thrown it away. Sorry. The other option though ... since it is a slide and not a complete firearm you can mail it off to someone elsewhere at a very reasonable price. You might find you can get either a better deal or a better finish doing that. |
