| Hey guys... I'm new to this site. I live in the Kennesaw area and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good handgun training course? I've been shooting for a couple of years now and have had no professional training. Any courses that you guys reccommend? |

You can train with me I charge the princely sum of $25 per person for either individual or group lessons. I do lessons most every week Mike Highly recommend. Mike is a great instructor. I took a half day intermediate class from him and am looking forward to another one. |

Mike is a good shooter, hell of a nice dude, and a good instructor. I've threatened to release my novel length opinions on what qualities make a good instructor vs. a bad or mediocre instructor. I'll just sum it up to say Mike possesses the qualities of a good instructor: insightful, knowledgeable, leads by example, observant, willing (for the most part ) consider new ideas, etc. He still doesn't like a "high ready" all that much I don't think. Spend a day with Mike. Best money you'll spend on gun related stuff. Mark |

Start with a two-hour course (or two or three of them) and then look at the weekend courses. In a couple hours you can learn the basics of saftely, the draw stroke, trigger manipulation, etc. and practice at home until it is second nature. A follow up will provide reinforcement.
That way when you drop $1000 in fees, ammo and travel for a long class you're learning valuable skills instead of slowing down the rest of the class. |

You will be hard pressed to find a better guy. He has my wife shooting a .45 and giggling her first time out. |

I train out of Pickens County Sportsman Club Talking Rock Georgia
If any of you all are looking for instruction and are not sure if you want to train with me. You are welcome to meet me at the range for a little practice no charge. A lot of people ask me why I charge $25 and the answer is: I like teaching newer shooters and I would rather shooters get some instruction than worry about the cost. Mike |

I look forward to meeting you one day myself Mike. It doesn't get any better than this post ... unless you were training out of Athens (where I live). It's worth the drive to you though I'm sure and I hope to make it one day soon. |
