Well, it's not exactly new since the lower is a SWD M11/9 made in Atlanta in 1986, but it's got some new guts. I already had a Lage slow fire upper &
accessories. After being on the waiting list for 3 years, I've finally gotten the Lage MAX-11/22 22 LR conversion kit for it. It consists of a new bolt assembly & cocking knob, barrel insert & ejector plate, 40 round magazine w/loader & cleaning brush. The barrel insert protudes from the end of barrel & is flush with the end of the flash hider to prevent leading inside the FH. It uses proprietory Lage/Black Dog 40 round polycarbonate magazines. It was designed to use Remington Golden 36 Gr. LR, since it's bronze plated to reduce leading of the barrel. It functions like the orginal 9mm, firing from the open bolt & using a fixed firing pin. The extractor, plunger and spring are the same as a 10/22. The conversion will not work with the semi-auto function of the M11/9 - Darn!. After it gets broken in, I'll probably have a 'smith cut the barrel back so it's flush with the 9mm barrel so I can use a suppressor on it.

Very nice!  I am so far down the list for this kit it might be years before I see mine.  I haven't kept up with it but I thought there was a project in the works for a threaded barrel insert so that you could use a suppressor.  Depending on your needs and desires that might be better than cutting down the real barrel.  I am still very thankful for you stopping by to let me play with your Lage accessories!   I got the same setup as yours except I got the flat top upper.  I've taken it out a few times and as long as I don't use UMC ammo it is a blast.  Thanks again for the assistance!

out of curiosity since I know nothing about this platform or manufacturer why is there such a long wait list for an already produced conversion?

Matthew:  I tested the MAX-11/22 conversion out this weekend down at the hunting camp. It ran like a Swiss time piece, only faster. I only had the time to put about 100 rounds thru it, but in 4 different magazines I had zero malfunctions using Rem. Golden bullets. The lack of recoil is amazing. I was easily squeezing off 3-4 round bursts. It's worth waiting for, it's my new favorite toy.

There's a couple of people running it suppressed in different configurations, but as of now, there's not a factory threaded barrel from Lage. He's been recomending sending the upper & insert to TROS for cutting & threading, just to make sure the insert is concentric to the 9mm barrel threads. I also think some people have been threading the end of the barrel insert & using a 1/2x28 adapter. I'm just going to keep running it as is, until it's thoughly broken in & then decide how I want to suppress it.

I was happy to show you mine & glad you're enjoying yours. What kind of optic and/or BUIS did you end up putting on yours?

I am so Jealous!

That is my Dream MG right there. Cheap ammo and relatively cheap gun.....

You can now afford to shoot the shit out of it and not feel the pocket pinch.
