My oldest son was working in Leesburg, VA with a friend on a crew remodeling a Longhorn Steakhouse. He calls Thursday morning and has been sick and puking for 2 days. On top of that he stepped on a nail that went pretty deep into his foot. He had no way to get home and we couldn't get him a flight, so me and the missus jump in the car about 1330 yesterday to go get him. It's almost 700 miles each way. I drove all but about 2 hours on the way up, we picked him up in front of the motel around 0200 and I drove straight back all the way and got back about 1500 today. Damn I'm beat. We took some meds and treated his foot, at least his Tetanus shot is up to date.
Sure is some nice country up there, I want to go back under different circumstances. |
