I'll be the guy with the dissenting opinion...
Couldn't care less about the SCAR-L or SCAR-H. I know that opinion will be in the minority on arfcom though. It is cool you got to go hang out at FN though. And OPA never sucks! You're not the only guy with that opinion for sure........ |

What are your impressions on the handling and recoil? I shot one about two years ago and I'm curious to see what you think. USSA-1 Honestly if was the softest shooting .308 auto that I have shot so far. WAY softer than FALs, HK clones, M1As. Even on full auto it wasn't that bad as long as you controlled the burst. Double taps were smooth. If I was interested in shooting Heavy Metal class and these were available I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up. 17S Models Should be shipping by beginning 4th qtr. They will be extremely hard to get. Scars, whether 5.56 or 7.62 may not be for everyone but I can say this- until you have shot one please reserve judgment. The recoil impulse is unique to the SCAR platform and unlike any other weapon out there. It's not necessarily good or bad, but different. |

I do speak daily with those who are being pushed to take the rifles though and haven't come across a SEAL or SF guy yet who doesn't think it's a piece of crap. From issues with recripicating charging handles to suppressors with holes in them to make them run (in the case of the Heavy) to stocks that fall off is enough to make me not want to put either on my wish list anytime soon. |

Yep, all our "night" customers carry an M4, AK, or AR-308. The only special rifle in the club belongs to the two snipers. As for back-ups, I have seen everything from MP7, Brugger MP9, Glocks, Walther and others. Not a single SCAR been along for the fight. BUT... They are really cool looking. I own a lot of guns for that reason alone. and if you run out of ammo, you have a really thick heavy club to hit people with!!! |

I don't know UH60....seems the stock would break rather quickly when you club someone with it. Yep, I'm a pretty sarcastic guy. Its one of my few skills. I also think that the stock is wide enough to be used as an oar in case your boat motor cuts out or there is a freak flash flood. It just needs a T-handle attachment that can be placed on the flash hider. But, seriously, I do own a lot of guns because they looked cool. I think life is short, get the toys you want...and put them in a trust. Get bullets too, those are good. AND, a skill, something that can keep you entertained. |

Cool...I thought it was all advertising and no product. As for the SCAR....I'm not a fan....only in constant exposure of it due to D. |

Yep, they (Brugger MP9) is on the field. I'm pretty sure I have only seen the Navy guys carrying them. Everyone in the mission briefs has nick-names. That is nothing special, just names like Doc, the Jew, Mikey, Chris, or name tapes like A13 or E12 or B03.
I've got the civilian version, so when I got here I was super excited to see them. I talked to a bunch of the guys and they like them, small, fast firing, light, etc. That is obvious of course, no one carries something they don't like or trust if they have the choice. A lot of the ANA guys carry an M4 or AK. The Polish dudes have 5.56 AK versions. I thought that was odd, we all asked them why and they said they liked it better. I'm always looking for a Saiga shotgun, but the Benelli and Mossberg are what I see. |
| I've had a 16S for over a year now. I've shot it in matches and a Hackathorn class. It was ran 100% the whole time for me. Then again I'm not clubbing small bearded men in the face with the stock either. it's not the primary gun I would choose but after you have 1 or 2 AR's they all start looking the same. |

Cool.
I don't club people either. I just momentarily stop outside their house for a few seconds. Everyone has their pleasures. I also don't like slings. I don't own any, I take mine off when I go out. Everyone is different...except that they are different, they have that in common. |

I'll take the N6 or as we call em "N6exy" any day over the SCAR's I've shot.
