Ok Last week I took the NRA LEAD Patrol Rifle Instructor class. On the second day the AR started a serious feeding and extracting problem. The gun only had 200 rounds before class. Shooting good condition mags and Federal xm193 ammo. I have shot these mags and ammo in other guns for years with no problems. I got home and started cleaning the carbine for the next day, that is when I discovered 4 lugs on the bolt were broken off and gone. 2 lugs on each side of the extractor; which was still in place. Any Ideas as to what happened?
I was able to complete the class with a SIG 556 and shot a perfect score on the qualification course.
But now I need to fix the AR.

Did you take the course at East Point's range? I heard about your problem if you did. Look and see if the front of your buffer is peened. If it is, you have an overgas problem. Too much gas coming back through the gas tube and the pressure gets too high and the bolt won't unlock fast enough. Just my opinion without looking at the rifle.

I would LOVE it to be a Texas Spec bolt.
