Clubs or matches, Creekside and Riverbend are the closest. Yeah, I saw the matches at Creekside but I'm a little hesitant to go without really knowing anything about it. I read somewhere that some cities actually have clubs pertaining to the sport. The group at Creekside is a great group. Just show up. They are very friendly and will help you out. |

Everyone is very helpful, bring what you have, ask questions and have fun. |

Keep in mind that there is a big difference between Riverbend's 3 gun and Creeksides 3 gun.
Biggest differences is that Riverbends 3gun is one long stage, you will have your pistol and rifle on you and usually the shotgun staged, but you need to carry all your shotgun shells with you. Hell for that matter everything will be with you, extra mags for pistol, rifle, extra shotgun shells and its one run and done. That is unless Tony is able to put his matches in the new action bays, then it might change from one run and done. Creekside has a multi gun, where you will use multiple guns in a stage and there are multiple stages. One stage may be simply rifle and pistol and you dont have to have any shotgun shells with you or anything like that. One stage might be shotgun and pistol together, and another stage may be you need to have it all with you and things will be staged and you would then have to have everything on your for that stage. But come on out to either one and the guys will help you out. Every third month I believe South River has a 3 gun which is fun as well. |

How much ammo do I need and is possible to survive running a pump shotgun? |

How much ammo do I need and is possible to survive running a pump shotgun? Allow me to answer this question. Last month South River had a multi gun, one of the better local multi guns I have personally been to. Larry Turner does the stages and they are quality. I decided to shoot my supernova over my M2. I took 3rd in tac optics using a pump on the speed shotgun stage out of like 33 in tac optics (everyone else ran a semi except for myself and one other guy). My point is, you can be competitive with a pump shotgun. It just takes practice. My suggestion to anyone getting into 3 gun is to run what you got to get familiar with the sport, then change stuff once you get a feel for it etc. Feel free to send me a IM if you have questions. |
