So Monday while I as sitting in open court this kid goes up to enter a plea. I was kinda only half listening until I heard, "The basis of the aggravated assault a the defendant shot (his ex-girlfriend) in the buttocks with a 6mm BB gun." 6mm? 6mm BB gun... airsoft! Sure enough it was an airsoft pistol. the guy "empties the clip" into his e-gf's rump. Now he was pleading out to aggravated assault and 4 years of probation. Fortunately the judge started asking particulars about the BB gun and found out it was "a toy" according to the defendant. Judge stopped the farce and said they had to show her it was a weapon before she'd complete the plea. I guess you get what you pay for in criminal attorney's. Oh and everyone who shoots at that field in the discover mills mall, you've just committed 20 year felony! |

and people think I'm paranoid about that kind of crap for no reasonI was asked if I would be an expert on airsoft and I had to say no. I've never been shot with airsoft. I told the attorney, "I save my money for real guns." hahahaha damn. I haven't been shot by any of the high powered ones (that I didn't know existed until I joined here) but the spring ones aren't bad at all. ~200fps I think? |

I have one "high powered" spring and two electrics if you want to try. They just sting a little. The max on those is 350fps. My CO2 pistol is 415fps. |
Geez me, my son and the 3 other neighborhood bicycle motors could get life w/ the multiple encounters we have.
My son & I got the Aftermath toys for Christmas. They hurt like sumbitch Well I know who to call if I get busted tagging the like creep across the street. 7mm |
I was at a job site and I shit you not there were 4 Forsyth Co. deputies surrounding a kid about 10 years old. It seems he shot at a car with his airsoft pistol and the cops were called ![]() What ever happened to calling the parents? My mother would have beat my ass if I shot a car with a bb/airsoft gun.

I still have a few spring pistols, MP5, and an AR15 airsoft rifle I got from airsoftatlanta.com for shits and giggles.
They will all sting / welt through a light layer of clothing. Even some walmart guns can break skin easily. If she was wearing jeans, it probably left a nice bruise on her ass, assuming 250-300fps or so. Like someone popping a big rubber band kind of sting. Case sounds like a clusterfuck. -Mike

Quoted: What judge was it? so how does refusal to take a plea work? why was a warrant signed in the 1st place? did they not say "airsoft gun" in the warrant language? sounds like a bad cobb county detective You only tender pleas. The judge has the final decision on whether or not to accept a plea of guilty and any recommended sentence. Since it wasn't my case, I have no idea what the warrant said. I also never said it was in Cobb. |

I'm blind in one eye from someone misusing a paintball gun. Just because it's a "toy" doesn't mean that it can't cause serious damage to someone not wearing the proper safety equipment. My two boys play airsoft, so I understand that it is just a plastic bb, but it can still blow your eye apart. I am very strict about the eye protection at our house, and have made several kids leave because they aren't safe.
If some dumbass decided to shoot at me while walking thru the neighborhood, or riding by on my motorcycle, they better be ready for a fight. You have no idea what an inconvenience losing sight in an eye can be. |

Its all fun and games until someone loses an eye. Then its fun and games with no depth perception.
But I feel ya on not being able to see out of one eye. My mom put an old fashioned curtain rod thru her upper palate and into her eye asd a kid and can't see anything but a blur out of it now. Watching her try to back the car down a straight driveway is sad. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

You have no idea what an inconvenience losing sight in an eye can be. I was actually thinking of you. The eye issue was brought up by a deputy I was debating with about it. That's why I harkened back to "He shot her in the rump" were most people don't have eyes. |
| Was he joking around or did he do it with the intent to harm the Girl.we don't know do we.I cannot believe you guys are defending this kid without knowing the whole story.if it was your daughter and he did this while cussing and berating her I imagine the circumstances would be totally different.what if he threw a metal match box car at her or took a wiffle ball bat to her would you still say it was not a crime. If his intent was to harm her cause he was mad then he deserves everything he is getting. If he was just being silly then his parents need to tell him what's what.Either way he needs to be taught a lesson.Airsoft is a toy on the field with proper gear but on the street it will get you killed if pointed at the wrong person. This kid is learning a valuable lesson and let the jury decide what his intent was because we do not know. |

I don't disagree but 20 years? ETA: I just had an image pop in my head of Dennis the Menace doing 5 years in juvy for a baseball through a window instead of mowing lawns for a summer to pay for it |
and people think I'm paranoid about that kind of crap for no reason
