| Do any of the shops around Atlanta have 'em? |

I got mine from pannell's at the height of the buying frenzy for like $500. In was on consignment and they guy wanted it sold for that so he would have his money ASAP. It was on the shelf less than 2 hrs.
Of course that being said it's having some "issues" but honestly I think it's operator error more than anything. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Allen has some Imbel uppers he is finishing out. They all have Para length barrels. Not sure when he will have them done but should be soon. I am grabbing one for a Para lower I have sitting here waiting for an upper.
If you are just wanting to finger-bang something to get an idea you know you are welcome to borrow any of my stuff. |

/Thread hijack Book, I was successful in modifying a spare gas plug by welding up the standard hole and vent cut and re-drilling it to about 5/64". This plug allows me to fire the FAL with my homemade can on it without changing the gas setting or over-pressurizing the system. Brass goes about as far (maybe less) as it does when I use the normal plug and no can. It seems quieter also. Just thought you might like to know. /end thread hijack |

Yes, Bradd. Me too! I have the lower parts and am just waiting on Allen to finish that upper. Mine will look close to that except that I am using the DSA dust cover and forward rail in my build.
Let me know if I can help. Again I offer, once I get my upper done from Allen you are welcome to borrow it. You know I wouldn't make an offer like that to just anyone either. |

I saw that Vltor will be coming out with a rail for the FAL.

Yeah, but...
"Will be" and available now are two different things. I am old school and like having the picatinny rails already on the forearm instead of installing small pieces of rails when I might need them. I don't like the chance of some screw coming loose, which I have had happen. I am so tired of being a beta tester. No more "early adopter" for me. The DSA setup is proven. I am sold. What does the Vltor do better? It might save a few ounces I am guessing if you don't have all the rails installed. Again I am just guessing. That is the reason some other guys like other similar forends with detachable rails. The gun already weighs a good bit and I actually lift weights so a few ounces aren't really bothering me on a .308 setup. It is like everything in this game - a lot boils down to personal preference. Borrow my DSA setup and see what you think. If we could find someone with a Vltor we could finger bang that would be awesome. Mark |

Interesting, stimpy. I would loce to check that out sometime. You are a VERY skilled dude for sure. The fact that you can also shoot makes you something of an oddity. Your wish is my command: 2010 FAL match info Get entries to me before April 1st if you want a custom colored shirt. "...something of an oddity." Hmmm...I rather like that description. I think I just spend too much time thinking about firearms is all. I'll have the FAL at the machinegun shoot on the 27th also. We try to snag the left side of the line there, come on down and see us. I'll have several of my projects there to burn up cheap milsurp ammo! |

Mark Actually, the best handguard arrangement I have seen is Ed vandenbergs, but of course it requires serious modifications to the barrel. Doing it in a quad rail would be the shnizzle! Hmmm...maybe for the 8mm? |

That's what I want to do to my 21" barreled Imbel..............cut it down to 16-18 inches and turn it into a Para FAL............very handy

DAMN...I was thinking of selling mine...but if it could be changed into this, I might not. Is that an ACE folder. |
