Tryin to decide on a decent scope for my ar15 for less than $300.00, i have more to spend but thats the limit until i talk myself into buying an acog. Might end up going with the millet dms-1. Is there a good 2-7x scope out there in this price range or should i just stick with a 1-4x. Just want something for mainly 100yd plinking and every once and a while out to 200, killing clays and paper.

In the sub $400 arena, I have always like the Nikon's.  It is hard to beat their clarity and reliability for moderate priced scopes.  You can get a nice 3-9X44 for the money you are looking at.

Check out www.samplelist.com and see if they have any demo Nikon scopes that are priced right.  You can sometimes save 30% just because it was an open box demo model with the same factory warranty.

A buddy of mine got the DMS-1 for something around 269 from SWFA (what he told me) and I mounted it for him friday. It looked alright for a 1x4 for the price paid.

I have a dms-1 I got off ebay for about $100. The illumination on it was shot, but I didn't really care. Its a nice scope for an AR. Nice. If I ever tear it up I would get another.

+1 for the DMS. I have banged mine around at Creekside on more than a few occasions and it has held up well. The lighting isnt bright enough in daylight, but its still a great scope.

well, my eyesight in my right eye isn't the greatest since i got my eye cut, the scar tissue on my cornea makes gives me a hell of a blur, so the little bit of extra zoom from the 4x would be nice, wouldn't mind a 3-9x but don't know how i'd like it at close ranges.
