| FYI, they've revised the lookout to a Brown over Tan 82 Model Chrysler with no hub caps that is either set up as a low rider or has a bad suspension. I have heard unofficially that he was shot with a high powered rifle which is kind of unusual for this kind of thing. Prayers sent. |

.Arrest Made...Good Job Guys
Suspect In Police Officer Slaying Arrested Police: Suspect Had Outstanding Warrant Posted: 11:08 am EST February 17, 2010 Updated: 5:47 pm EST February 17, 2010 CHATTAHOOCHEE HILLS, Ga. –– Police took Robert Cook, 44, into custody Wednesday in connection with the shooting death of Chattahoochee Hills police officer Mike Vogt. Cook was taken into custody by a SWAT team Wednesday afternoon at a home in Fairburn, a few miles from where the shooting happened. Channel 2 Action News reporter Richard Elliot shot video of an armored vehicle headed to the scene of the arrest. At a news conference Wednesday evening, Chattahoochee Hills police chief Damon Jones said Cook was being interviewed by GBI agents and would later be taken to the Fulton County Jail. Authorities said they have recovered a vehicle and a weapon. They said that weapon would be used by the GBI crime lab. Vogt was shot and killed Monday with a high-powered weapon as he drove along Vernon Grove Road in south Fulton County, according to police. Jones told Elliot that Vogt was driving down a dirt road in his squad car Monday afternoon when he noticed a man urinating alongside the road so Vogt stopped to investigate. Authorities said Cook already had an outstanding warrant and didn’t want to go back to jail, so he opened fire on Vogt. Vogt was able to put his patrol car in reverse, back up for about 50 yards and radio for help. After the attack, authorities posted a $35,000 reward in the case and announced that they were searching for a 1983 Chrysler LeBaron. Authorities said the vehicle that they recovered is not a LeBaron, but similiar in design. Vogt was a veteran officer, having worked some 20 years with various agencies in and around south Fulton County. Before going to work for Chattahoochee Hills, the county's newest city, Vogt worked as a reserve officer for the Union City police. Friends said Vogt was also raising his 13-year-old grandchild because his daughter died during childbirth |
