How ridiculous is this going to get? All they found was a letter and some "hollow point" bullets.

LOCKDOWN

Lockdown=put all of the victims in really easy to kill groupings

Anytime there's a threat to any installation we always lock down the place. Its meant to muster troops and isolate movement. Also General Petraeus was on the installation so there was a little more concern than normal. TheColumbus Ledger-Enquirer has more of the story. Also something to note as to why there was a lockdown, the annual "Losers Come to the SOA Watch Protest" was there which is normally a peaceful demonstration outside the Columbus-side gate to Ft. Benning. However, there have been threats in the past of them trying to breach the installation and do vandalism. Not a far fetch to suggest that this was no coincidence, also from the LE: Fewer Flock to SOA Watch Protest

Ridiculous? <insert not sure if serious pic>

Threatening the lives of our soldiers right now is taken very serious, in the light of what happened at Ft.Hood.

Tread carefully on what you say.

My only hope is they fucked up and left a trace on what was left, I'm sure it will be at the lab at Ft. Gillem and gone over with a fine toothed comb.

With any luck it was just one of the SOA retards.  If caught I hope they  strap him to a bench and smear female pig pheromones on his ass and release the hogs.

This makes more sense.  I was thinking lock down on the terms of schools that have a criminal inside....put all the kids together in rooms whose doors don't lock.  It was just about a bunch of filthy pinko commie fag hippies wanting to do a little vandalism.  Glad nothing came of it.

A legitimate question is what good is it to muster troops if they are not armed?

Most arms rooms are within a two minute walk from their respective barracks. Also, its a commander's call to arm his troops. Ft. Benning is a training post and most units don't keep ammo in their arms rooms, very few do actually. So what would the point of arming them be? No benefit in carrying around a 6 pound paperweight.

Unless it was a shotgun. Because then they could just rack the slide and scare away the bad guy.

Its a basic training post primarily so collecting the recruits to control movement and ensure accountability is paramount.

There's a lot more than just basic training there, I"m confident the Rangers and Ranger Training Brigade likely have at least some ammo on hand :-)

Having been an instructor at Benning in one of the TRADOC units... no. Not even them. Ammo is tightly controlled for a very good reason. If you had access to upwards of 50,000 rounds of 5.56mm I'm sure you could find a convenient way to make it disappear for a hefty profit.

You are preaching to the choir about whats there, mate. I went to basic there. B-9-2 Harmony Church. 87' I meant that at it's core, it's a training installation.
