First off let me begin by saying this LEO is a fine fellow and has always been willing to lend to a hand. He is in his 50's.
Yesterday he came in the shop with his wife which is typical since he has a rifle on layaway. I assumed he was coming to make his final payment but he proceeded to tell me that he had experienced a stroke several weeks ago which left him stone cold blind. He told me there was a chance that his vision could return but details are sketchy since he was having a difficult time speaking to me. Although his speech was clear, he was having a hard time keeping it together while holding back the tears. I am discussing the possibility of a gun raffle with other area LEO's and all the proceeds of the ticket sales will go towards his relief. if it's acceptable I will post raffle details here if it becomes a reality. TD Damn that sucks. I'll help out anyway I can. My 53 yr old father had a stroke a couple months ago and still cant walk. I'm always willing to help out anyone I can, especially another LEO. |

Have one of your BBQs. Sell plates at a price that will cover the cost of the food and the LEO gets the difference.
Advertise it in advance and you will have takers. Heck, sell tickets to the BBQ so you'll know how much to buy and won't be stuck with too much food. (Like churches do.) |
