After having my basement flooded twice, I have came to the conclusion that carpet or wood do not belong in my basement.  I have done a little research into staining concrete and no this is not from oil dripping from your pickup.  Does anybody know who does it locally?  Any info anybody can share would be appreciated!!!

Save some coin and do it yourself.
Super easy.
The prep sucks, but even a novice can have it come out looking awesome.

Another option is tile. I put 12" tile in my basement. After (so I thought) I fixed the leaks.

Newgunner on here just had his patio done. They cut in tile like cuts, stained it, and then put grout in the cuts. Ut looks bad ass!

Did the same thing on my neighbors patio in Baton Rouge.
Also put a template down and put a giant Fleur-de-lis pattern in the center, slightly different color.
Circular saw with a concrete blade set very shallow works great.

A good painter can stain your floor for you, I had my garage floor stained a neutral dark gray when I had the house painted this year.  I just don't have the time for DIY...

Unless you have seen thier work refer to my post above yours. Painters who think they can stain a floor and use the correct topcoat are by far the worse culprit of floors that need to be fixed.

Anyone that uses a sealer indoors is a fool and that person is screwing you. (only exception is if you have moisture problems) Painters LOVE acrylic sealer.

meant to add that I wanted the floor to be a dark blue color if possible, without or with clear––whichever is better for a garage!

yo-

call JR Industries, ask to speak to Mike (THE guy up there... highest you get on the ladder). They're located off of Canton Road between Shallowford and Hwy 92.

Mike Henson

These guys are customers of mine... they have a GREAT showroom where they took a basic slab floor and just went to work.  They've got the Ducks Unlimited Duck as you walk in, ornately carved out and stained... All sorts of other examples of what can be done...  Tell him you were recommended by Nic @ Lackmond Products, and tell him what you're looking to do.  He can put you in touch with some TOP NOTCH folks to do the work.

couldn't give this guy or this company a stronger recommendation...  we've been doing business with him/them for years and years...

IM me if you have any other questions- i manufacturer all the cutting tools you'd use for this project, so have a good bit of experience with doing this and can let you know what to expect.

have a good one,
nic
