Roger Stephens deserves a beat down.
His original comment would have earned him a "mind your own business" retort from me. Any further action on his part would have resulted in an OC spray bath right there in the aisle. Strike my child and my 2nd action would be to call DKing and hire him. Monk |

I've really be looking to get a new ZR-1... |

Don't put hands on my family period....especially not the young-in's. I don't care who you are or what type of day you had.
Discipline? Sure, I got no problem with that. But that's not for in public and not for some stranger to do. I don't understand some of the people in the GD thread. You can make all the reasons you want to in order to explain the actions of Mr. Stevens...but none of those excuses justify his actions. |

I don't understand some of the people in the GD thread. They're trolls. No one thinks that way in real life. You sure? Obviously Mr. Stevens did, for at least a fraction in time. Remember the guy that shot his grandkid over a watermelon ? Man....sometimes I just want to help people so much....I just don't know how. |

Quoted: Terroristic Threats and Acts (F) but 2 people would have had to have heard it and it had to specifically threaten violence not merely a possibility of violence.I had to stop reading the GD threads about situation. It was pissing me off (shocking isn't it) Could he been charged with a crime for the verbal threat? Monk |

Terroristic Threats and Acts (F) but 2 people would have had to have heard it and it had to specifically threaten violence not merely a possibility of violence. I bet the kid and the mom both heard it. If he slapped my 17-month-old, I don't know what I would have done. I know it would have involved kicking/punching him in the gut, followed by literally standing on him until security/cops got there. If he was bigger than me, the OC spray mentioned above sounds like a viable alternative. You don't touch anyone's fricking kids. You just don't. |

I hate listening to someone else's kid cry just as much as anyone else and I get annoyed when parents don't do anything to calm or quiet down their distressed toddlers, but I have never thought to actually threaten or slap a crying toddler even when I was trapped on a plane/ This guy is a douchebag and he is lucky he didn't get a beating. |
|
I have no issues punishing a kid and I have thought multiple times that the PARENTS need to smack a few kids.
but I would have never have slapped someone else's kid! they guy would have gotten a sever beat down if that happened to my kid. not by me mind you, I would have probably been standing there with my jaw on the ground watching my wife beat the ever living sh!t out of him......she can get very violent. many times I have had to wear sunglasses to hide the bruises.....

A) I don't understand what special kind of bastard retard would even think of slapping someone else's toddler, and B) I don't understand why the mom didn't tell the guy in no uncertain terms that if he even twitched in her child's direction she would kick the living shit out of him
My wife would have junk punched that SOB, loaded him in the cart and taken him outside and curb stomped him for even saying that he would slap our kid. If it were me instead of my wife, the guy would have wished my wife was the one taking him to task. |

I think maybe the guy slapped the wrong person. Maybe the mom needed it more than the kid. Why? Her child was crying in case you don't know 2 YO's cry "Sonya Mathews, the mother of the 2-year-old child, told police that both were walking in the aisles of the Rockbridge Road store when Roger Stephens, 61, approached and said “if you don’t shut that baby up, I will shut her up for you,” according to a police report. Stephens and any one who supports his actions is a punk bitch. Monk |

You have to understand the area ..... I know right where that Walmart is ..... Obammy supporters is all I will say. and that somehow justifies this cretin's behavior? get a clue. there is no situation or justification in which a 61 year old jackass can be "in the right" for slapping a 2 year old. |
|
I hope those of you who think this was justified have not, and never do, pro-create.
2 year olds will cry - they will have melt downs - they will pitch fits. Do you think it's fun for the mom? Hell, if I never went shopping because I was afraid one of my children might disturb some bitter old man then I'd never leave the house. It happens. Grow up, ignore it and move on. Let him try it with me and you'd find him writhing around on the floor clawing at his eyes. If that wasn't enough, well, then you'd find him lying in the ever-expanding pool of blood seeping from the ventilation holes he'd just received while I poured salt in them. BTW, I go to this Walmart quite often and I'm not an Obammy supporter. |

2 year olds will cry - they will have melt downs - they will pitch fits. Do you think it's fun for the mom? You should have seen the way our daughter acted when we tried to get pictures taken of her in a pretty dress last weekend at the Olan Mills studio in Kmart. Holy crap. She's only 17 months, but I would swear she's already in the terrible two's stage. The cameraman freaked her out with a teddy bear wiggling in her face, and it was all downhill from there. We ended up rescheduling, which was very nice of them to do - they didn't have to, as it took us 15 mins at least to realize the screaming/crying and saying, "no, walk, walk!" were never going to stop until we finally let her down and left. Mortified doesn't even cover it. Kids cry. You try to get them not to, but nothing's going to work. A 2-year-old doesn't understand reason - try preaching to them in a store and see where it gets you. Try spanking them in a store - that only makes it worse and makes you look like a troglodyte. Spanking is not for public viewing. So, you evac to where you have the upper hand without being embarrased (home or the car). No one has the right to do anything to your child except ask you to leave if he/she is the store manager. It's definitely not fun for anyone involved. |
