ongoing debate about wal-mart ammo on another forum. this little gem was just posted:
Now go to the local man and buy a box of his ammo and take both boxes mark both so you know where they came from. get you a big something like a old car hood and fire some rounds from wmart listen to them hit the hood. then fire off some rounds from local guy at the same hood and you will see the diffrence in the price. the wmart loads are under loaded cause some body got hurt and suied wmart. check it out or ask some people they will tell you or try it and let every body know.

He is correct. You get what you pay for. The people that paid $10,000 for their FN SCAR when they first came out are shooting 1/8" groups at 100 yards. The people that got one for $2800 on a lucky bid on Gunbroker are shooting 1" groups. Money makes everything shoot better. Yes, that guy is a retard. I know the powder in the rounds I buy from Walmart shoot dirtier than some other brands, but shooting paper doesn't require Hornady TAP when WWB will do just fine... |

I'm pretty sure it's gotta be true. It all makes sense now.
The ammo shortage is probably based on the ammo companies stopping occasionally to download the "speshul" lots of Wal-Mart "Law suit friendly" line of ammo, and this is holding up production of the high priced "local guy"/"screw the lawers" line of ammo everyone else gets. Edit to add, Just so folks know that was humor and I haven't been drinking enough to agree with the "shoot the hood" logic.
