| So far I'm liking the "fixed" version of vista. Finally it just works. |

Is there any software out there besides database server apps that utilize the 64 bit architecture efficiently? Microsoft has done a horrible job hosting 32 and 64 bit web apps side by side. We run and pay for two installs to get around the annoyances. Photoshop and 3ds max. About it as far as I know. |

You paid the right price for it. heh no shit. I am going to build a new comp in the next couple of months. Wouldn't mind using a newer OS than XP. Thinking a 64bit system and some serious horsepower under the hood. Quad processors. Get an Intel Core i7 quad core cpu later on this year. Some excellent budget versions are slated for release later this year. If you're going 64 bit, Vista or 7. I've heard that the last SP for Vista got 64 bit runnin' good. I still use XP for all my PCs, but I don't need 64 bit either. I used Vista for a year on my laptop, then switched it to XP. Bought a new laptop last month and switched it over too. |

I just built out a Core i7 system for about $1400-1500 if you're interested in the specs. Should last 3-5 years with some minor upgrades along the way. |
