Spent spring break out of state at a buddies and had a chance to visit one of the ranges "somewhat" in the area. This was my first time shooting at 650 yards and was my second attempt of the day. This was using a 16" larue stealth with leupold mark 4 1.5-5x and 69 grain Sierra Match King by Blackhills. I was very surprised, the remaining 3 shots were outside of the paper. Just noticed the one that can't be seen is to the left of the highest shot.

Very good job!

Most people do not have a clue how far that is.

I was surprised when I got out there. The target itself was damn near hard to see even through the 5x optic

i am congratulating you as that is impressive.

i have been shooting gongs at 200 yards with a scope with ease at a private local shooting spot.   joined coastal ga. gun club and can hit the 300 very easy.   400 you can not make snap shots especially with wind, but i can hit it.    and the 480.......................... i ain't hit it yet.

folks in the movies someone, anyone picks up a rifle, puts the scope on whatever they want and pull the trigger and hit everytime.    when you get past 300 there is more than just putting the crosshairs on the target.

All of that to say.... i have tried it and it is not easy and YOU DONE GOOD!

Yep, past 300 yards bullet drop gets to be pretty steep, and wind is much significant of a factor.  I haven't been able to shoot much lately, but my sight adjustment was something like 12 minutes going from 300 to 600 yards (it's in a data book somewhere), and that's changing ammunition as well, going from 77 grain SMK's at mag length to 80's seated long.
