Well, life has been crazier and more stressful lately with all the family stuff (illness, death, etc.). It has only made me more behind on the job stuff and kept me away from here. Sorry about that.
I'm waiting for my house sitter buddy to show up then I'm out the door headed to SHOT. I'll post stuff from down there. I look forward to seeing some of my arfcom buddies down in Orlando. I'll try catching up on voice mail and e-mail while down there. Maybe it will be a good break. Joe and Adam, I'll call you guys later today. You too Marcus. You guys take care. Mark |

Could one of you guys pick me up a LaRue calendar? I'll gladly throw a couple of bucks your way and pay for shipping to show my appreciation. Shit, that would mean one is able to get within 15ft of their booth. Their location was mediocre and the booth was completely surrounded today. I couldn't get in there and didn't feel like fighting for it. You may be better off trying to call and get them to send you one... |
|
Mark was busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest today, each time I saw him. The whole AAC booth was always full of people fondling their toys. Pretty cool stuff too.
Mark showed me the newest 22 supressor, called the Element. It can be taken apart and the baffles are individually stacked in the tube. It was pretty cool and super lightweight. They also had their 50cal can, the Cyclops, set up on an M2 mounted on a tripod that had everyone gawking. The damn supressor alone is the size of my leg! Of course, I forgot my camera cable to I can't upload pics until after the show when I get home. Sorry! |

Got here at 6 this morning, crashed until about noon and hit SHOT until it closed.
Kind of disappointed this year... Just seems.... Slow. can't quite put my finger on it yet.... but i've had fun flirting with all the booth babes... what few are present. As well as had a good time seeing some big names that i've met over the years again (Mark Larue, , Chris Costa, Trey Knight, ,and so on).... That being said after leaving SHOT we went for food at Hooters... |

And Perazzi had a gorgeous girl imported with their shotguns from Italy. There were several others but those 2 stood out to me. Well, I'm heading out now. I'll try to get some more highlights. |

Mark, Orlando just isn't the same without me in your hotel room, is it? I haven't slept so well since we slept so close. Those beds were the SHIT. Though, I did wake up sweating nearly every night. But I slept like a heavy rock in a deep ocean betwixt wakings.

Or how about some nice Masada pictures? There was one (1) Masada/ACR rifle in the whole show. It was at the Magpul booth, TIED DOWN to the highest rack so no one could even pick it up. I asked the Magpul rep, he said "the rifle had been licensed to another manufacturer" and he deferred all questions and answers to the "other manufacturer". He didn't even say the B word. WTF? I noticed a bit of tension. The Bushmaster booth didn't even have one. When I asked the Bushmaster rep, he said that look for it to be available to LE and Mil. by the end of 2009. Didn't mention anything about the civilian market. After waiting two years for that rifle, I'm giving up. And forget trying to buy an FN SCAR, MSRP is over $2400 and the bid on an auction site is at $8000 for one. I put my deposit down for a Daniel Defense M4 instead. Support a Georgia company and its workers. |

Didn't mention anything about the civilian market. Yep, they seemingly aren't planning on selling it to us. Folks in the Bushmaster industry forum have been going on about this for months. They gave up on us entirely, it seems, and are marketing it to .mil and LEOs (like .mil will even purchase many of them - it sure isn't going to be the new basic issue rifle). So, they bought/licensed the design and mothballed it, basically. I'd be pissed if I worked at Magpul, seeing as how they've been pushing it as coming soon for forever now and are so proud of it. |

I had a good time at the show. I saw Sara Palin - almost ran in to her as she was entering the show on Saturday. I liked the new mags that AAC is coming out with. Anyone else notice them? They look similar to a pmag but they have a color coded round counter on the bottom and on one face. Supposedly you can see the window without coming off the buttstock. |

I saw some on the back of Special Weapons magazine from CAA that had a rear countdown. |

ETA and price? they are F'ing expensive, and they screwed their dealers over on it.... i'm sure we will still end up picking some up... But damn I think they screwed their larger dealers on this thing..... Care to go into any details? |
