As of 12:55 P. M. November 5, 2008 Saxby officially had 49.9% of the Votes cast. Which, gave him over 100,000 Votes ahead of his closest opponent. But, not the 50% plus 1 to be certified as the Winner.

This is likely to mean a runoff.  Everyone needs to get out and vote the runoff to make sure the Dems don't make any more gains!

That's with 96% of precincts reporting.  He should win in the runoff when us Libertarians go back and vote. He brought it on himself by voting for the bailout. This is a wake up call to Republicans to get back to actually being conservatives instead of government growing puss heads.

+1.  I swore I would vote against him due to the bailout, but I feared a filibuster-proof senate more.  I'm sure a lot of us did, but all the same this should be a wake-up call to stop screwing around.

Thats my fear.  All else is secondary.  Of course, with the current crop of politicians, I don't know that even that will help us.

A friend of mine who is a major player in the Georgia republican party vote for Buckley over Chamblis, as did my wife and I. Chamblis was not a happy camper when I saw him on Tuesday night. Hmmmm, I wonder why.

Chamblis is still 100% better than Martin.

I wonder if he and johnny got the message when it was shot across their bow, no amnesty, no gang of ten, no bailouts or your gone.

This is why voting Libertarian ISN'T a wasted vote. Republicans take conservatives for granted yet continue to act like Democrats. Bush catered to the Democrats and together they blew open the deficit leaving us with the tab. They handed the country to the socialists on a silver platter.

Exactly. Chambliss is the epitome of how the GOP lost it's way. I want the Chambliss back that I met shaking hands at a gun show for his freshman House seat. Not the Chambliss that voted with Ted Kennedy on amnesty, or the one that supported the RINO financial bailout.

We should make him sweat. Send him an e-mail and ask him to give a reason why we should vote for him in the runoff.

Those 40+ senators will be the only thing standing in BHO's way. Saxby needs to man up and act like a Republican, not a neoconservative.
