What is the current price for a ric of firewood going for now?
What would be considered a high price?

What's a ric?  The only STANDARD measurement of firewood is the cord.

Depends where you are back in April-May I helped my dad cut several loads for him and asked what the price was now and he told me around here Columbus $80 a chord but Atlanta it was around $140.

My understanding is that a cord is 4'wide x 4'high x 8'long and a ric is single row that is 4' high by 8' long. 2 rics = 1 cord.

I think a ric is a face cord.  I've never heard of a "ric" but the term "face cord" is fairly common.

a "ric" is common around north GA.

I use to sale a "ric" for $40 in high school and $70 for a cord.....that was delivered and stacked.

I've seen people ask more than $110 for a chord in Columbus. We always cut our own so I don't pay too much attention to it.

I'm sure you can find a deal or two if you look around.

I have tons of firewood out here in Carrollton, still down from the Mother's Day storm. Free to a good home...you cut it up and haul it off. You can email me if interested [email protected]

Oak, maple, some poplar. Most were blown down, easy access...some cut into logs already.

Dang.  Somehow, I don't think a 3-hour round trip will be justified to the wife.  I could definitely use the exercise of splitting it, though.

based on the farmer's market bulletin between 130-150 dollars a chord seems to be the going rate.
