If anyone is interested here is the info that was emailed to me from a friend who works at Atlanta Motor Speedway. For anyone in the Henry County area or who needs something to do this weekend, the Audi Driving Experience is at Atl Motor Speedway. The experience is a 2 hr course comprised of a 30 min class, 45 min lead-follow on a portion of the track, and 45 min competitive comparison. This is a free experience. There are beverages and light snacks offered. The sessions start at 8a, 9:30a, 11a, 1:30p, and 3p on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. |
Don't forget your fireproof driving suit. No seriously. Years ago in the Fulton Co. Stadium parking lot BMW had a similar class during the Winter Auto Show that would roll through town. The SCCA would put 'helpers' out there to man cones & such. I was there picking up run over cones & drooling over the new M3's as this guy walks up helmet in hand with a plain-no sponsor patches of any kind-4 layer Nomex drivers suit on. He was not an instructor & not associated w/ BMW NA. He was just another schmo who wanted to thrash the BMW's in a parking lot at second gear speeds & only cones to hit. One of my buddies started calling him 'Mario' 7mm |
no sir, you better check the website www.audidrivingexperience.com/2008/?area=event&track_id=322 as of right now the only time slot w/o a waiting list is sunday morning @ 8am, and you're still supposed to register. |
Sorry. I was just passing along the details that were given to me. My friend said she didn't even know it was open to the public until Audi got there on Thursday. |
