Joe, Any details on this yet? I'll gladly pay in advance to attend this one. Did the orienteering and shooting in the wind classes ever materialize? |
|
Yes details will be out this week. Greg the member who runs our website had surgery Monday and we will post the info later this week or no later than Monday. As far as the wind class, yes it is. I am working on some dates. I am trying to get two dates before the challenge. |

If I shoot in this one do you want a partner? M.

I'm going to be there. But I'm going to need a spotter. I've tried twice to get my dad out there with me and he just doesn't want to run it...really.. the running is what got him. he just wants to shoot it..... oh well I'm putting the paint on my rifle now... finally got my 308 ready to role (300win mag got traded off) so we will see how I do... now if only my GSG5 would come in so I could run the 22. 2 gun..... |
| Will this match fill to capacity,i would like to go but only have the ar with irons.i have hit a steel plate at 400 but i feel i would take a spot from someone that would be more setup for it.(may be able to borrow a rifle from buddy at work)I also dont have any experience with this or a spotter. If someone with more experience is in need of a spotter and can help me out that would be cool. |
I dont think that an iron sighted AR is gonna hit the top of a bowling pin from the stripe up at 500 |
U could try it with Irons, but I can tell ya..Joe will make u shoot under some form of stress/time limit lol both....and some of the those steel targets are almost covered by a mil dot n my scope....Your eyes might be a heck of alot better then mine, but I cant see the targets with naked eye standing at 500yd line...not saying u shouldnt come out..its a blast, but U might have a hard go at it with Irons |

What power scope are you guys using?Would an 8-32 x 44 with a lighted mil dot reticle work. I am looking at this, note the free bore sighter it comes with. Bsa scope would this work? or is this better |

Iron sight on the AR is almost impossible in the Sniper Challenge. Some stage you will need to shoot the golf ball at unknown distance(200 yards or more), plus some of the shooters are in the top ten range in the nation. It just like you and me playing golf against Tiger Woods at a local golf tournament... You may need to look at tactical challenge in November, then your AR with iron sight will suit you well. |
I havent used a BSA scope...I had a Tasco Target/Varmit before I went to my Nikon I have now..its a 4.5-14x40 Prob I see with BSA scope is its 1/8MOA meaning 8 Clicks of the turrent to move it a inch at 100yds..thats a whole lot of turning of that turrent knob when u have to adj at the longer yards Here is scope Im useing Nikon I used this one before the Nikon...scope tracked good, glass with just so so..no were near my Nikon...big down side is the scope took a stiff bump and knocked it off preatty good....I upgraded after that tasco There are alot better/$$$ out there and here is the rule..if u cant SEE it u cant hit it....i started cheap as we didnt have the sniper challanges when I got my PSS, but if I could start over id go with as much glass as I could afford |
