where do I take old worn USA flags for proper dispolsol? I put out a new one every year on this day, right now I keep my old ones folded in a wooden box, but the box is getting full, I do not want to disrespect my country or it's flag by doing this improperly, so any help or advice would be very welcome. Thanks William

What I was a taught as Boy Scout (a long time ago) a respectful burning was the proper way to disposal of tattered or worn flag.

You should try contacting a local Boy Scout Troop or Veteran's group.
If you can not get in touch with them, you can burn the flag your self.
A simple and respectful ceremony is all that is needed.

I think the American Legion will also help out. We had a collection basket for old flags in the BX.

Yes, the american legion disposes of old flags with the proper ceremony, I dont knwo what it is, But they do it I think 2 times a year at the post I belong to.

Just drop it by the local post, even if they dont do it they will make sure it goes to a post that does. Or just leave it setting in a closet somewhere

Put the old one folded up into the box the new one came in, and dispose of in the trash.

As long as it is disposed of respectfully, it is considered withing etiquette.
