Matt Shaub was 16/ 22 for 225 yards with one TD and one INT in the Texans 20-3 flogging of the KC Chiefs. Meanwhile, the Atlanta GhettoRats had their collective asses handed to them 24-3. No dogs were killed during the action. |
Yeah, because their boy Vick is gone. I now do cheer for them since he is gone. I hope they get better. As for Schaub, he should have been the starter here midway through the 2005 season, but Blank was so enamored with Vick that he was blinded. Anyone could have seen this coming. The red flags were everywhere. They should have kept Schaub. I said long ago, the Falcons were gonna fuck up and trade Schaub and it was gonna be another Brett Favre story. Several of my friends and I have been calling him "future hall of famer Matt Schaub" for that very reason for a very long time. Of course, now we are gonna here the "we coulda won with Vick" bullshit. Saturday night on the FSN NFL show, they said they didn't care about the Falcons playing the Vikings, they just cared about Vick. Disgusting. |
If Matt Schaub is "another Brett Favre" story after throwing one TD and one pick, I guess Jake Delhomme throwing for 3 TDs and ZERO INT's means well, he must be the best QB ever! It's only one game and I really don't understand where all this Matt Schaub love is coming from. I think it's just because some people hated Vick so much, they put Schaub on a pedestal out of spite. Scahub is a pretty good QB by all estimations, but will NEVER live up to the standards these Vick haters have created for him. Before anyone says it, no, I don't think the Falcons could do that much better this year with Vick, nor do I think they could do better with Schaub. They have way to many holes elsewhere (the O-Line and D-Line for sure) , but it would have been interesting to see. Who knows, maybe the light bulb would have went off in his head this season like I'm hoping it does for Joey Harrington. I liked Michael Vick before all of this mess and he needs to get his life in order, which I highly doubt he can. I do not however, want to see him as a Falcon again because of what he did. I'm a Falcons fan , I just want to see them succeed. |
Just wait and see with Schaub. He will live up to the expectations. Yes, I am a Vick hater, you bet your ass. Both because he was so overhyped and overrated as a QB and he was a self-centered, arrogant punk who was not a team player. He was all about self-glorification. Schaub should have been the starter at least midway throught the 2005 season. I am damn proud to be a Vick hater. It means that I was able to see what a piece of shit he was long before some others. Yes, they will do better without Vick. Yeah, I know they stunk up the place Sunday, but I still expect them to be better without Vick. With Schaub, they would have been much, much, much better already if Blank had taken his blinders off and let the coaches decide who the starter is. Harrington will come around and do much better. I liked Vick his first couple of years but then his act got old. His fumbles, his overthrows, his underthrows, his demeanor. He has been a punk for some time and had Falcons management been paying attention they would have begun to see that long ago. |
I agree on a few of the points on Vick, seeing him run the ball while holding it with one hand and then fumbling after he hit the ball with his knee did get old, but I think he had a good arm, but just needed some work considering he probably never really had to use it in High School and I KNOW he didn't use it much in College because he was such a better athlete than any of the other guys on the field, he could just run circles around them. I think with a lot of work and the right coach he could have been great but he shot himself in the foot for sure. Larry, you going to any home games this season? |
Hopefully, but my work schedule has squashed it every time I have planned to go. |
