I'm looking to purchase an AOW but I want to form a trust to keep from having to jump through hoops to puchase such a weapon.  How do I set up a trust and how difficult is it in GA?

No problem at all.

I created one for my cans.  Quicken will maker for about $25,  20 minutes with the wife.

Print, bring to the gunshop.  Less than 3 weeks, I have a tax stamp!

It's so simple with Will Maker that you sit there wondering where you screwed up. Bookhound is an excellent resource for this.

So no paperwork to file with the state?

Nope, only if you plan on including real estate in the trust.
I'm in the category with the others in that I really thought I must have screwed up somewhere it was that easy. Print it out and get it nororized. Get at least 5 copies notorized as you'll end up going through them fairly quick

I only have the original notorized.  I have always just made a xerox copy and sent that in with no problems...is that normal??

Sending in a photocopy of the notorized Declaration has worked for you? I've been told they wanted a notorized copy every time so that's what I've been sending in. It'd be nice if I didn't have to track down a notary every time I go to get something....

I've had several approved with just a copy of the notarized Certification of Trust.  You don't need to send originals.

Sweet! That's good to know....

Just make sure the notary stamp or embosser is copied. IF they use the embosser, you will probably need to increase the darkness on the copier to get it to show up.

So just get the certificate of trust copied and notaried and send that in with the Form 1 or Form 4?  What about naming it with regard to what goes on the weapon once it is made if I form 1?
