| I just thought I'd drop in and introduce myself. I am in the Air Force, currently in Alaska (Korea and NC before that) and I just got orders- I'll be PCSing to Moody AFB (near Valdosta) in September. |

I thought that I would love to live in Alaska as well DKing, until I talked to azreal9mm's brother who is up there right now. Let me say this: I have lived in Georgia all my life. The coldest it has ever been in my lifetime was maybe -1. This guy tells me about -20 F. consistantly during the day in the winter. I think I am happy where I am. I would love to go in the late spring, summer or early fall. Welcome to the Georgia! |

I'm stationed at Eielson now. This past winter we set a record, something like over 25 consecutive days that it did not get above -30. It is routine to be below -40 on the flightline, and since I work nights, Each winter up here I've gone for months without seeing a bit of sunlight. I am looking forward to buying a house (no more renting for me) and since I buy 90% of the things I buy online to stop getting gouged on the shipping. I've got a bunch of AK's waitign to be built, so come October-ish I'll be looking to join in or host a build party |

One of my friends is retired there and sent me some good info, but I'd appreciate any more anyoen wants to share. I do fish, in fact, I already booked and paid for my next halibut charter, we're going Memorial day weekend in Seward. Thanks though. |
