It's going to be hard to capture the context of this subject but, here's what to refer to just in case:

This is mostly directed at Book but, any information anyone can chime in with would be greatly appreciated...

Book, can you get a KAC M5 RAS kit? Maybe, but the KAC stuff isn't something I stock.  Frankly, I think there are much better rail systems out there - namely LaRue and Daniel Defense.  Kiser has DD rails in stock.

Can you compete with $10 AR-15 magazines?  We don't sell AR mags.  Again, Kiser's got those.  Not sure on the price.

ETA: Also, do you have any 11.5 inch 5.56 uppers or AR 9mm parts?  The next SBR upper I buy is from Kiser.  He has one of the best deals right now on a custom SBR upper.  The last one I built was almost entirely from parts I got from him.

I've got a registered SBR sitting in my room that has been there for almost a year...

Seeing the trend?    I could sell Stag stuff and AR mags if I wanted to do so, but Kiser already does a great job of it.  We have at least a $80K worth of inventory right now in silencers.  With that much money tied up, trying to compete with a great dealer like Joseph (not to mention a great friend, too) just doesn't make sense to us.

Maybe you can help me out here...

I'm thinking about doing this SBR in 9mm to keep the ammo cheap, easy to load, and able to be shot rapidly indoors.

When I take my HK53 to an indoor range, everyone in the range stops shooting until I'm done. I can't decide if it's the 3 foot long fireball or the 8" barrel.

I've got no problem loading tons of 9mm and that eliminates case trimming. I can also get gunpowder locally for a good price.

What options are available to reduce supersonic 9mm to subsonic integrally while using a suppressor without building an MP5SD?

If you don't stock anything like this, what options are available to suppress a 9mm AR15?

Can you give me some input on this?

I might just stick with .223 and suppress that but, I'd be spending more on ammo, doing more maintenance, working harder to reload, and spending more on a piston upper (I didn't do too well getting sprayed in the eyes by VSP's rig).

I have one of JKiser's custom 11.5" SBR uppers and it rocks.

Stag M4 feed ramp upper
Stag 11.5" 1/7 twist chrome-lined barrel w/ M4 barrel extensions

I've got a DD 9.0 Lite Rail on mine with PRI low-profile gas block w/ ARMS #40L Rear and PRI flip-up front sight.  He can customize that upper any way you want it.

I also have a Colt 9mm AR I'm about to sell if you're interested.  I was going to SBR it, but I've moved to another project.  It is a LEO/Restricted marked Colt lower with factory Colt Mag Block, 10 x 32 round steel LEO marked Colt mags, M4 handguards, RRA 16" 9mm upper, Colt 4-position milspec collapsible stock.  It's got a RRA Dominator and EoTech 512.a65 Rev. F on it but I would separate those if you didn't want them.  Let me know if you're interested.

Cool.  Thanks!

Now, where to start?  For a 9mm SBR, I vote a TROS-USA barrel with a three-lug adapter.  AAC will have a 3-lug mount for their Evo-9 can sometime in the next few months.  At that point you could use the Evo-9 on the AR and a pistol or some other 9mm platform.

If you go with a 9mm AR with a threaded barrel, just get the .5x36 pistol with the Evo-9.  You can swap out pistons easily to use the can with different hosts.

I don't like integral 9mm setups.  I'd rather let the ammo determine velocity and sound.  If you are rolling your own anyway, it is a no brainer.  Guys wanting integral 9mm setups want them so they can stick whatever cheap 115-grain ammo that is available down the pipe.

My thoughts.

Sorry but I hate the predator rail too!

I'd be getting this one w/ an EOTECH if I decided to go with .223 suppressed:

Was that the same rig of yours I shot at the class?

Didn't you read where he needed to purchase a Colt 9mm here - Colt 9mm AR?

Edited to add:  The Colt has an EoTech on it.

This is also a very good route.  The Colts are good to go.

HKShooter..........Yes it was the same one you shot in VSP's class.
Keep in mind though that no matter what you suppress will put gas back in your eyes and face. The piston uppers just have less. It still feeds back down the barrel and into the chamber. The 9mm's have a good bit as well. Just don't want you to be disappointed with the results expecting no blowback.

I understand but, when I shot the one you were selling, it wasn't noticeable at all.

VSP's on the other hand was like getting sprayed in the face with as little as a 2 or 3 round burst on F/A but his was DI.

I know someone who works at Autrey's (Don't want to post his name here) who owns a 9mm AR with a suppressor.

He said I could shoot it sometime and I'll probably take him up on that soon...

Was VSP using a Gas Buster CH?

With a can you WILL get some blowback on an AR.  You can try a GasBuster to cut it down or maybe try the silicone caulk trick on a standard CH.  You can also experiment with different lubes.  I run my guns pretty wet, so you are more likely to get CLP spray when shooting my suppressed ARs.  Dry lubes aren't as bad on the spray.

I also shoot nose to CH and get more spray on my cheek than anything.  If you shoot with your eye behind the CH and inch or tow you'll get a lot more spray in it.

No kidding, I was crying after shooting your 20" AR after Mike's class.  I have however shot another member's AR w/ M4-2000, and there was zero blowback.  It was slightly dryer than Book's though.
