| Not real sure I can't tell from the pics. But from what I can tell they don't appear to be poisonous, I can't promise that but judging from the pics. Where do you live? If I'm not mistaken in Ga the only poisonous snkakes are rattlers, copperheads, coral (some locations not all) and cottonmouths. ANyone that knows different feel free to correct me. |
| I second that. It was the first snake I ever cought and owned as a pet. VERY harmless. A great snake to teach children with too. They are very tame, Only get about 14 inches long and are great breeders. I have had about 4 of them since I was a kid. One of them had like 20 babies. Immagine my surprise as a 12 year old walkinbg outside to check on his snake and there was what seemed to be a thousand of them in the cage....Good thing you didnt kill them like most ingorant (Exploitive deleted) would have. Many people kill snakes just cause they are snakes. Theres only like 4 kinds of poisinous snakes in GA and All the time I have spent outside and actually looking for snakes in the last 20 years. I have only seen 3. And they werent the chasing type if you know what I mean. As a rule of thumb if you turn over a rock or log and a snake looks like a poisinous snake, and he strikes at you, Hes probably not poisonous. I have heard "It was a rattler, Yeah he was black with white stripes" Many snakes shake thier tail quickly when scared or nervous, In leaves it makes a rattling sound. Please if you see a snake in the woods. Leave it alone. Now, If you know it is a poisonous snake and it in your yard/ house or somewhere where it could cause harm to your and yours. Then kill it if there are no other means of getting rid of it. But if its not poisonous let it be....Its eating rats for ya. |
