I am in the market for an AR 10. Being relatively new to AR's - can someone give me some advice on buying one (price points, brand, problems..) Thanks in advance |

I'll say this- Eagle Arms and Armalite lowers are the same thing, save the warranty. I built an AR10T using an Armalite "T" upper and an Eagle lower for $1100. The same gun as an Armalite would have csot $1500 minimum to $1800. Mags- be careful buyin gused ones. If they're the old ones, they are crappy. They look nice, but don't work for crap. Get new mags and just eat the cost of them. |
| I have an Armalite AR10A4 that is about 3 years old. I haven't had any problems with it. I put a DD rail on it and a 2- stage RR trigger, cut the brake off and installed a phantom, and then a VLTOR stock. I get 1 inch groups with it from a bi-pod. I don't remember it ever jamming but then I usually shoot federal gold medal match through it so that may be why. It is very heavy! |
I have 9 of the old mags and 2 of the new ones. My old ones perform flawlessly. I have 4 AR10s, an AR10A4 with factory SS barrel that I free floated, an AR10A2 rifle, an AR10A2 carbine, and an Eagle Arms/Division of ArmaLite AR10T that I built from "scratch and dent" and closeout items except the lower.

Brand? It has to be either an ArmaLite or an Eagle Arms/Division of ArmaLite in order to be an AR10. Mine run flawlessly. Over the years, I have had one bad mag and ArmaLite replaced it. Other than that, they run great. The 10A4 with the SS barrel doesn't like SA surplus, but it was silly of me to try to run surplus in a match barrel anyway. |

| When I'm talking old ones, I mean from late 90s. IF ya'lls are that old and work, then great. When I got mine, they were the old mags I had malfunctions with. Not many, but it happened. I called Aramlite and Rich seemed to know what I was talking about and told me hwo to tweak them, or that I could send my rifle to them and they'd tweak the mags to make them work. I had 5 newer mags that were fine, so I didn't bother. |
