Anyone know who stocks PTR 91's in the metro Atlanta area?  I'd like to look at one before I buy.  Thanks.

Keep in mind for a dealer to stock a PTR or Arsenal SAM is likely to be an unprofitable move. Not many buyers are going to shell out close to $1k on an impulse purchase on an assault rifle knockoff.  He'd have to mark it up a lot to make it worth it. He'd probably get a lot of tire kickers coming to try it out and then go purchase on the 'puter on teh internet.

The only place I've seen one is at 400 pawn and loadn in Dawsonville. They had one of the first ones. The grip frame was real loose on it (poorly fitted) and it scared me off. That was two years ago.

I went to Franklins in Bogart (Athens) today. They have a PTR91K there. It's new, had a 16" barrel and flash suppressor, and A2 type stock. IT was VERY nice. I considered putting my Sig on it as trade material. Alas, I don't need another 308 right now.

The price was $969.

In contrast, they had an early (1974) SACO import HK91 with a few accessories for $3199.

I saw some nice guns, but their prices are high and I asked two different people how much they could come off from the price on two different guns and neither even acknowledged that I said anything. On the other hand, they were more helpful than my typical visist there.

Unless you know someone who works there don't expect to get any kind of discount or help.  I've went in there on multiple occasions and they would look the other way if I looked like I needed something.  I would gladly pay more for the same thing at a different store.

I try to give Ga outdoor sports all the business I can because of the way that they treat me when I go in.

Yeah what was weird is this guy asked me if he could show me anything within about 3-4 minutes of arriving, and while I was looking at a few different things, someone brought him lunch and he stayed with me and we talked guns for a bit. I realized he was carrying his food with him and told him not to let me keep him from lunch.

Thanks Kletzenklueffer, if I don't hear about a place closer I may have to take a trip out there.
