i know theres a lot of tapco bashing around here and i have never really thought it was warranted but i just wanted to chime in and recognize them for doing such an outstanding job of customer service for me. George @ tapco picked an order for me on his coffee break with 30min notice so i could pick it up over my lunch hour. the website clearly states 24hrs for pick-ups. this is why i buy from them if they have what i want. excellent customer service.

I've had good service from them too.  They just don't carry a lot of stuff of interest to me, so I don't order very often.

Their AK and other Chicom stuff is pretty good, but their AR stuff is pretty sad.  Most of it is knockoffs and cheap imitations.

Yep.  That's why I don't buy from them.  In fact, because their AR stuff is mostly shitty knock-offs, I tend to view ALL their stuff as second rate at best.  Even though I know that isn't necessarily the case.  Know what I mean?

For example, when I see something in their catalog that looks cool (like the FAL SAW grips and buttstocks) I pass on it just because I associate the entire company with cheap stuff.

The only things I've ever purchased were FAL magazines (NIW) and stripper clips.

If you're looking for AK stuff, their two stage triggers are excellent. I don't have any experience with the AR stuff so good luck!

I tend to agree with their AR stuff, but every once and a while they'll have a sale and I'll make an order.  Now I think they have AK Hungarian 20 rd mags for $5.

Yeah- and they have G3 mags for $4 and 5. I'm trying to get in touch with GMAN inGA to buy his SAR8 and pick up a bunch of these mags.

They have some new USA made stocks cheap 50$. I ordered a few. The picture shows all the better features than what the imports have. Shows the pin in the slide lever nut, the pin in the buffer, and the extended lip at the front of the tube to hold the retaining pin correctly. I will post if what I see is what I get. Past results from them have been less than pleasing for me and yet like all Georgia based companies I keep trying to support them with buisness.

I bought a bunch of AK stuff from them, they did me right. Even worked out a nice discount for me on the deal, without me asking. Did fine by me.

Stay away fron their new garand clips.  Chinese junk that doesn't work.

DId you guys see that TAPCO is selling LEO marked mags for $12.00 each?

I'm starting to think I need to give TAPCO another chance.

Like it says in the other thread, Tapco is a company that gets what's happening.  Good for them.  I'll be buying a few of these mags, if for no other reason than to support them.

FYI, my understanding on Tapco's AR15/M16 stuff is that a lot of it is just DPMS (like the fire control groups and stuff).

I've never used any of the DPMS stuff.  I know some guys don't like their bolt carriers (but can't remember why).  muddy, what are your thoughts on them (DPMS)?

Never seen any DPMS stuff listed by Tapco. Where do you see the AR fire control parts on their site?

The FCG stuff is in their sales flyers that they mail out.  They may (or may not) have it up on their site.  I don't really have an opinion on DPMS stuff.  I'd probably prefer RRA or BM but in a pinch it would do.  I can tell you one thing, while their lowers (the forged ones anyway) may not be pretty, they're closer to milspec than the crap with the horse on it.
