Hey guys, hope all is well. I just wanted to write to tell you about a program that I found out about that is pretty cool. Its the Cival Air Patrol. OK you do not need to be a pilot to be in it and they are always looking for people that are not. Its a program that is funded by the Goverment and is part of the Air Force. They do search and rescue for down planes and lost people. They also help out with the DEA and do drug searches. What makes this cool is they give taining courses on Wilderness First Aid, GPS and Tracking, Lost and Rescue and Radio courses. There is a fee and there are meetings to attend. Its like $75 for the first year and $45 each year after that. IF you are into flying they can help you with training and the cost is super cheap and they have a really nice 172 for training. I looked into this to build up some hours but when I attended the meet tonight I was surprised to find that they had all this other stuff that was part of it. I wanted to write to tell you that, because of the training that you are given. This is tought by people in the armed forces and is something that most would pay good money for. You do not have to march and be some military reject, its really cool and a bunch of nice guys. Well if you would like to know more please ask and Ill ask your questions in the next meet and report back! Just some food for thought. |
