| Story about my dog. He's a 10 almost 11 month old full bread chocolate lab. Me and my wife recently found out that we will be expecting our for child early next next year. The same time that I should be deploying again. Anyways me and my wife have talked and figured the best thing would be to find him a new loving home. Currently up to date on all shots. Has been trained with proof if need be. This is certainly not going to be easy but there's no way I expect my wife to take care of a newborn and a dog. We currently live in jacksonville. There is no fee, all I ask is a loving family to take him in. If interested please let me know. |
| I wish I could help. I would love another lab around the house. Have you considered donating him to a group that trains Service Animals. I have a Yellow Lab that is a service dog for my son and he's great. There is usually a organization nearby that would be willing to at least test them to see if he would make the program. You could guarantee a great home for him that way. If you don't find one local, let me know and I might be able to point you at one. Does he have all his registration paperwork as well? |

Get in touch with your local Humane Society and explain the situation to them. Good luck! Unfortunately, if you take a dog to a shelter, humane society, or home meant for a specific breed, your record is forever marked and you can no longer rescue an animal. It really sucks, but they just assume that if you can't handle one dog, you can't handle any of them. |
