I was in town for the NRA show and I really couldn't carry anywhere I went. Bars I understand but FL law has it that if you go to a restaurant you can sit down and have a beer as long as it's not a bar. Also the majority of businesses I hit had No CCW signs up.

Is it legal to CCW in a restaurant that serves alcohol like Ruby Tuesday an what about the No CCW signs. Do they have any legal authority behind them? I noticed that you couldn't even carry at the NRA Show.

No carry anywhere alcohol is sold for consumption on the premises.  Restaurants that serve are included.

NC also has a law that prohibits possession of any firearm if you have consumed any amount of alcohol.

Yes, those signs are enforceable if they are posted at every entrance.  There is also no standard as to how large they need to be or what they need to look like.

We can't even carry into anyplace that charges admissions.  So we can't even carry when we go to see a movie.  Which is why 9 time out of 10 I take my movie going money to SC.

Nope, that particular law only applies to concealed carry. It is perfectly legal to drink while open carrying. Although I am sure that they could find a way to charge you if you got drunk while open carrying.
