| I am looking to buy my first full auto sometime soon and have some questions. I have had my sheriff sign off on 4 or 5 form 4s already, and he is more than willing to sign off on class III paper work. I was told that a special state permit is needed in NC in addition to the federal mumble jumble. I asked the sheriff and he didnt know anything about it. Where do I get the paper work and who issues it? |

When I wanted a machinegun permit to cover my a$$ in case the A.G. office started really going after machinegun owners in NC, my sheriff signed one that I worded myself and printed out for him. There is no standard M.G. permit, it is up to the sheriff to make it up (or do it yourself and have him sign it). If you would like, I can email you a copy of mine.
