| I am traveling to GA from NC and have a NC CWP is there anything special I need to know like do I need to inform leo if stop? |

Quoted:
If stopped you must give the LEO your CCP along with your DL. Unlike NC your firearm must be in the glove box or console but it does not have to be locked (if you aren't CCing it). If you are carrying a firearm on your person you must inform LE that you are and present them you DL along with whatever CCW is applicable. If you are not carrying a firearm on your person you do not have to inform LE. If you wish to have the gun in the passenger compartment but not on your person you may keep it in either your glovebox or center console. The firearm can be loaded. The glovebox or center console can be left unlocked. |

Just checking to be sure as it makes no sense (as if laws need to) that I can have it in a holster that is exposed but if I take it out to be more comfortable, even though I have a permit as I do in NC, that I must hide it. ***Just scanned the SC laws, as I'm heading there in a few weeks so fi I could ask these questions perhaps a SC resident is prety sure about the law: 1- can you have a controlled substance in you that is a legal prescription from a doctor and taken in the proper dosage? In NC you can. 2- It looks like SC does NOT have open carry. If you are pulled over and you have your weapon in your holster but it is exposed and therefore NOT concealed, are you in violation of the CCW laws? 3- Can you carry concealed in your car, or must you disarm and place it in the glove compartment or console (or another unreachable locatio) while in the car despite ones permit to carry? Thanks, Walsh |

In NC you can. Not sure. 2- It looks like SC does NOT have open carry. If you are pulled over and you have your weapon in your holster but it is exposed and therefore NOT concealed, are you in violation of the CCW laws? No open carry (yet). Your weapon must be concealed from normal sight. 3- Can you carry concealed in your car, or must you disarm and place it in the glove compartment or console (or another unreachable locatio) while in the car despite ones permit to carry? If you have a permit you can CCW in your car. Without a permit it must be in a closed compartment: console/glove box/trunk. Thanks, Walsh |
