Get a chocolate milkshake from the P&A Center on campus.  I don't remember what "P&A" stands for, but the milkshakes were awesome when I was a student there.  You can enjoy your shake while enjoying the scenery of and on the campus.  It's near the Strom Thurmond Center which is interesting if you are into that kind of thing.  You can watch a football practice too if you like...that's good for about 15 minutes of "wow, never saw that before".  It's a pretty quiet town all in all.  Summers are nice there.  There used to be a funstore in Anderson about 30 minutes away.  IIRC, it was a hardware store.  Long time ago, though.  Enjoy.

I cut this out of a thread for someone looking for shops in the greenville area:

Easley has one shop that I know of. It is a few miles from the Wal-mart off of HWY8, can't think of the name. They are limited in inventory usualy but they seem really friendly when I go in there from time to time.

Gradys in Anderson has black rifles, they usually have a good inventory of handguns and rifles as well. Prices are a little on the high side. There is a White Jones (ACE hardware) on the other side of Anderson, they sell guns as well. Usually have an AK or two and maybe an AR15. Decent selection of handguns.

A little further past Easley is Liberty SC. There is a shop there, can't think of the name of it either. (bad with names and I'm about lit too) They have a limited selection and no EBR stuff. Usually have some nice older shotguns, which is why I stop there occasionally.

Keep going past Liberty and you'll be in Clemson. Clemson gun and pawn has your normal pawn shop selection of guns. Ocasionally they have a good deal on a long gun.

If you happen to make it over towards Walhalla SC the gun shop there has decent selection. They typically have a few AR's and WASR style AK's. Ammo is a little on the high side compared to bulk prices. They are very EBR friendly but the buying rush since the election has kept their supply limited. The reloading supplies there are limited too. I usually pick up my powder and primers from them but lately the inventory has been thin.

ETA: the shop in Easley is J&S and the shop in Liberty is Garner's Hunting and Fishing.

There is also a shop in Westminster,  Westminster Hardware on main street.  Limited selection but he has older stuff from time to time.

There is a range in Pickens that is manned and an unmanned range above Walhalla called Cedar Creek.

As far as things to do and see:  I grew up in Oconee county, are you looking for good food, good bars, ?.

Yes, Pixie & Bill's is very nice.  It is right on 76 going through Clemson across from Zaxbys'.   There are a few nice resturants in Seneca as well.

If your interested in good breakfast, Waters in Westminster has excellent pork tenderlion biscuits.  It is a little out of the way but if your stuck here over the weekend they are open on Saturdays. as well as Tues-Fri.  They only serve breakfast.  It is a small place but the food is good.
