| Needed some more mags for a Browning Buckmark. Browning's MSRP is $29.95. ATP wants $39.95. I am done with them. I'll use the range, but that is all. What a bunch of tools. |
|
Trader World is a bunch of tools also. I was looking to buy a Sig P229R. They wanted $850. I found a damn near new one online for $485. Called them about having it shipped to them and they said no. Their reason was since they were a Sig dealer, they could order me one. Screw them.
BTW, I wasn't looking for a "deal". I was just looking for mags at a fair price. Ten dollars over MSRP is insane. |

Yep. I tried having a bolt action rifle transferred in there, but was told no because they sold the same brand/model in store. ATP;s douchebaggery is far worse, though. |

The guys at Trader World don't even come close to being in the same category as the criminals at ATP! Calling them tools is a bit harsh, but that's your prerogative.
While I don't always agree with their methods I do business with TW and have for well over 10 years. I spoke with Bill about his refusal to do transfers for people buying guns off the net or from individuals and he had some valid reasons for his position. They did transfers in the past and he told me some horror stories about a few of them. Remember there are stupid people out there and they own guns. People would ship guns without any information as to who it's from and to whom it's going. I guess the staff at TW was supposed to consult their crystal ball for answers when they log the weapon in! There are other problems they encountered like shipping guns out for deployed military customers only to find that the receiving business no longer had a valid FFL or address etc. These are the types of "issues" you don't want to crop up during your ATF bound book audit. Bill's solution to these issues (and others) is simply not to do transfers - do I like that decision - no not really but it's his business not mine and I respect his decision. Now in my case TW will do transfers for me and I have a copy of their FFL in hand should I need it but we have a long history and interests outside the gun business. There are other FFL's in the Charleston area that will do transfers for $25 and seem like great guys to boot so take your transfer business to them. These little guys are below the radar unlike high volume dealers such as ATP & TW. The recent legal action by NY mayor Bloomberg has left a bad taste in mouth of FFL's like Bill at TW and others. Unfortunately this type of attack from the liberals also helps to shape a dealers store policy. |
| Yes, it is my prerogative. I bought a Kimber Desert Warrior from Trader World. I checked with them when I was looking at buying a Sig P6. They were $150 higher than what I bought it for online. I understand sales margins, overhead, etc. If I could buy my guns locally I would. That's OK. I found a local guy to do transfers for $20. I'll use their range and that is it. |

I had never done an out-of-state transfer before until just a few weeks ago, just because I didn't want any hassle with the purchases. Well, i tried it and got nothing but hassles from ATP. Who is a good hassle-free FFL to use? |
