I posted in the team forum but thought I would try here.
I am in need of work, just found out that the job I have worked for the past 8 years is a month away from not being any longer.
I am 60 yrs old, prior military and LEO, experience includes, plumbing, electrical, construction and general building maintenance, BSIE but have been out of the industry for 10 years. Anything with in 50 miles of Walterboro would be good, Part time or any side work is good too. I am a hard worker and have a pretty good head on my shoulders.
My wife is also in the same position, she has a realestate license and has multiple years of property management experience.
Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks, rustee

Hi Rustee,

I'm a pastor in Myrtle Beach and googled Walterboro to see exactly where it is (I've only been here 4 months so I don't know the lay of the land quite yet).  One of the things that came up right below the google map was a site showing employment for the town there.

Walterboro, SC town website

Looks like a park laborer and a public safety officer opening at this time.

Blessings on your search

Thanks MCA I already checked into those, to old to be a cop again and 9 an hour won't pay the bills.
I did get a line on a job in Charleston from a Brother here on the boards, will have to wait and see if my age will be a factor.
Thanks for your prayers, much appreciated.

Anyway you could work for yourself doing renovations or additions, small building projects, etc.?

One thing that occurs with housing downturns or interest rate hikes is people add on or renovate instead of building or selling.

Sound like you have the necessary skills and experience and what better boss could you have than yourself?

May have to take a part time and start little but then grow as it can.  Just an idea - hope you find something that is right for you.

One more thing:  look for retirement communities in your area.  Maintenance foreman or physical facility maintenance work is always needed there.
