So I got to wondering about that ship, and it turns out that from what I've seen that issue has been largely ignored for about a year.

They said $7 million to tow it here, and then there is no place to put it.

It can't go under the bridge to be near the Battleship.

The Battleship is leaving in the future anyway in order to have the bottom worked on in Norfolk, which is the only drydock large enough to accomodate her.  They will have to raise the ship because it sits on the bottom, and I guess they would need to dredge out the area around it also.

So since the Battleship is going to be moving anyway, why not set them both beside each other somewhere else?

For me, its a no-brainer.  I believe the ship would be a perfect addition and a tourist draw.  The North Carolina has a competent staff in place, and they do a fine job of keeping it up in comparison to some other ships I've been on.

How can the issue be raised to get some attention drawn to it again?

I see she has her own webpage, maybe that might be a place to start voicing a desire to obtain her for NC:

Apparently she's on the Left coast until they decide what to do with her.  It would be nice to see it brought to NC and I agree it would help bring in tourist.
