ill be moving to wilmington nc here mid march (hopefully abit outside the city limits)

am i allowed to fire my firearms on my own property as long as the rounds donot leave my property.

if not are there any sand mines or clay mines around (big holes in the ground you get dirt out off)

i dislike public ranges for a few reasons

1 stupid people
2 waiting in line
3 people knowing what i have

I THINK I read somewhere that NHC has a county ordinance prohibiting shooting, but I could be wrong. Either way, Sutton Lake is just across the river and you can legally shoot there for free.

Bingo. I go out there from time to time with a few guys I work with. Of course, there's always some people out there on ATVs, but amazingly, I don't think anyone has ever been hurt.

The area is not quite all the way to the lake itself. It's off on the right as you're heading back towards the lake. There's a pretty high berm on the far end. That's the safest place to shoot as far as I know.
