Man, I never thought I would be excited to see it rain.

It seems almost odd.

I know; I was getting ready to gear up and head to the bug-out spot, all this alien matter falling from the sky could raise my lawn from the dead.

I should lay off the Max Brooks

Oh, is that what you call that strange clear liquid dripping from the sky?

I was wondering.

Some like the rain. Some like me, with it could have waited for next Thursday.

We were supposed to go to a festival today as vendors but with the rain, that's shot*.

*Pun intended.

The sky is crying because my faithful companion Minnie passed away monday.  I got to her just in time to take her to the vet, and she died as soon as I got her on the table.  The loss absolutely devastated me.  We had no idea that it was coming.

Sorry to hear that, Saturn!  I know how much you loved that dog, and she knew too.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Was that going to be the Greek festival in Raleigh?

After school let out I had to go do the traffic direction thing.  I enjoyed standing out in it.

Sorry to hear that Saturn. I'm dreading the time when our little guys have to go.

The rain lasted a pretty good bit last night for us.  Hopefully it'll help for another cutting of hay off our outer pastures this year.  I hate powdery grass.

We've got an antique show/fall festival going on up here in Spindale if any of you guys are intersted. My mom-in-law's restaurant is having it's grand opening too, if y'all want to give it a shot.  M2 in Spindale, NC....

A little rain never hurt anybody, except that wicked witch but she was a B**** anyway.

Actually, it was the annual River Fest in Eden, NC. Saturday was supposed to have good weather so we were there then. We were the ones with the tye-dye shirt & leather products booth.  It was pretty fun for work. They had $2.75 for a large milkshake with Hershey's ice cream.

Saturn, I'm very sorry to hear about your dog.

Sorry about your loss!  We went to Myrtle Beach this weekend to participate in the MS 150 mile bike ride.  It rained hard all the way there.  And it rained for over an hour in the morning as well.  We got plenty wet but surprisingly it felt good to be rained on.

No he won't.  Your dog has a tail!

Dad hasn't had a puppy since 1990 I think....  So this one is a bit of a change from what we are used to.  Dad's already spoiling him and riding him around in the truck everywhere.

The pup is like a lightswitch.  He is either wide open and tearing up everything in sight, or he is fast asleep.  He will chase anything and everything he sees.  Rocks, leaves, sticks, his toys, throw rugs, Then he just falls asleep again.
