I have just bought and older compound bow and i took it to get it restrung. Well the archery tech and gander mountain called me back and said it looked like i had a slight twist in one of the limbs. Does anyone know it you are able to straighten the twist out or did i spend my money on a piece of junk??? Also is there anyone in hickory area that knows how to back off the draw weight on bows?? The weight is at 70 lbs right now and i need to be pulling 60.

Usually you just back out the limb bolts.  At least thats how your reduce the draw weight on mine.   However there are a few shops in the area.  Bows and Ballistics down in Hildebran seems to have a good rep but Ive never used them.  Also there is Not just Archery that I think is on 127, and two more places up on Hwy 16 north of Conover.  HG&H i think is one and Lyndons Riverview is the other.  All those places should have Bow techs on sight and all beat the hell outta Gander Mtn.

Yea i figured that the allen headed bolt at the base of the limbs was the weight adjustment but 1) i didnt want to try it unless someone else could somewhat confrim what i was thinking and 2) i am somewhat worried about how buch more is left to be backed out. I would hate to have to walk into the ER looking like this -------> hem
I think we have to run to S & S Archery in CHina Grove this weekend so ill let them play with it. As for the bow, it will be time for a new one before hunting season starts cause this one sounds like a freaking .22 when it releases and the bent limb just sucks.

Thanks for the help
