I was suggested to bring this thread here to the Hometown Forum to see if anyone in NC could help me with this. I had a thread awhile ago about how I was denied my Pistol Permit by my local Sheriff due to the fact I had charges in Texas (and I've never even been to Texas). After about 3 weeks of phone calls to try to talk to the Chief I went back today to get this straightened out. I was told by a Lieutenant that I had to call Texas and get proof that I have never been to Texas or don't have charges there, and that I would have to provide documentation on this. So my basic question is: What do I need to do to get this accomplished? I don't know if its just a mix-up since I have a fairly common name, if I've had my identity stolen or what. I don't even know if my NICS checks are screwed up also since I haven't bought any rifles as of late. ANY Help would be appreciated since my Local Law Enforcement can't seem to find the time. |
