Two bills
745 http://www.senate.mo.gov/14info/pdf-bill/tat/SB745.pdf and 656 http://www.senate.mo.gov/14info/pdf-bill/House/HCS-SB/SB0656.pdf (maybe more) appear to have passed and are awaiting signature. This is the lanauge in both bills appears to be the same: Although the permit is considered valid in the state, a person who fails to renew his or her permit within five years from the date of issuance or renewal shall not be eligible for an exception to a National Instant Criminal Background Check under federal regulations currently codified under 27 CFR 478.102(d), relating to the transfer, sale, or delivery of firearms from licensed dealers. I looked up what is the requirement in federal law. http://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/27/478.102 It appears that they will either keep a copy of your license or write down the information and keep it with the 4473. http://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/27/478.131 2) If the transfer is pursuant to a permit or license in accordance with § 478.102(d)(1), the licensee shall either retain a copy of the purchaser's permit or license and attach it to the firearms transaction record, Form 4473, or record on the firearms transaction record, Form 4473, any identifying number, the date of issuance, and the expiration date (if provided) from the permit or license. |

I'm fairly new here, and don't post much, but you seem . . . familiar. Quoted:

Never had a problem, either. Still it's nice to be a 'more free than California' state. I'm fairly new here, and don't post much, but you seem . . . familiar. I get that a lot. |

I don't so much care/mind the 4473, its the 6+ month wait, 200.00 tax stamp and the hassle of filling out and sending in all the damn paperwork on NFA goodies... If I could buy/build NFA items just like Non-NFA, I'd be a Happy Camper.... Although, financially, its probably better for me and my wallet that they are like this... ![]() |

Just picked up a new Lower this afternoon. LGS stapled a copy of my CCW onto the 4473 that they didn't do last time I purchased a Lower about 3mo ago. Interesting. Why did they do that? Did you use your CCW as a primary identification? Have they attached a copy of your MO DL to the 4473 in the past? Did you ask why they needed a copy of your CCW to attach to the 4473? Is this store policy? Who in the store or outside the store instructed them to attach your CCW to the 4473? Any FFL's that can shed light on this? Is this new or common or just one LGS? Which LGS? |

I use my CCW as an ID at Gun Stores. The LGS was in Harrisonville. It may be the store policy now of stapling all ID's to the 4473, I don't know---didn't ask. |
